ExAnte Labs is a research project operated by Oliver Choi in New Hampshire, United States. This notice explains how we handle information through exantelabs.org and its inquiry form and app workspaces. Contact research@exantelabs.org with privacy questions.

Information you share

When you send an inquiry, we receive your email address, question, selected project and type of interest. Your name, background and a public link to your work are optional. We use this information to consider your inquiry, respond and manage related follow-up.

Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Please leave out patient information, financial details and confidential lab material.

Hosting and delivery

The public website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs and stores visitor IP addresses for security, including for visitors who are not signed in.

Formspree processes and stores form submissions and emails a notification to our Porkbun-hosted research inbox. It may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, access time and referring website for operation and security. Formspree’s hosting infrastructure is in the United States; providers may process information in other countries under their policies.

If you choose the email-app option, your own email provider sends the message instead. The Panela app workspace and our website preview use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure, which may process account and technical traffic information to provide access and protect the service.

These providers have their own notices: GitHub, Formspree, Porkbun, OpenAI and Cloudflare.

Research inputs and browser preferences

The Optifold calculator processes protein sequences locally in your browser; the calculator does not upload them. A sequence you separately include in an inquiry is sent with that inquiry.

Optifold study imports, including structures and scores, are read into browser memory and are not uploaded. Clearing the study or reloading the workspace removes that in-memory copy. A downloaded file remains on your device.

Panela processes entered CBC values, imported PDF/text/image files and document recognition in your browser. It does not upload the contents for analysis or retain a patient record on our server. Reports you export can contain the values and identifiers you entered; store and share those files with care. The app is a research prototype, not a patient-triage service.

Loading these workspaces still sends ordinary technical requests to the hosting providers. Browser extensions, device backups and files you download are outside the app’s control.

Your reduced-motion choice and the Optifold dashboard’s light/dark preference are stored in your browser so the website can remember it. You can remove it by clearing this site’s saved browser data.

Use and access

We use inquiry information for correspondence and related research discussions, not for selling personal information or targeted advertising. We do not publish inquiries or add people to the team page from a form submission. Any proposed research use, public attribution or new collaboration is discussed separately.

Inquiry information is available to the project operator and the service providers needed to receive, store and protect it. We may also need to retain or disclose information when required by law or to address abuse and protect legal rights.

Retention

Inquiry records can exist in both Formspree and our email inbox. We keep correspondence while handling the inquiry and related discussions, and may retain records needed for legal obligations or disputes. Email copies do not currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule. Providers may retain separate logs and backups under their own policies.

You can request deletion of an inquiry at the address below. We will review the copies we control and explain any information that must be retained.

Your questions and requests

Email research@exantelabs.org to request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your inquiry, or to ask us to stop related follow-up. Use the email address you contacted us from where possible and give enough detail to locate the message. We may need to verify that the request concerns your information.

If you disagree with our response, reply to the same address and ask for a privacy review or appeal. We review requests manually and apply any rights and response deadlines required by applicable law. This does not promise immediate deletion from provider logs or backups.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page and its date when our practices change. We will provide any additional notice or consent process required before using information for a new purpose.
